I am a Healthcare Professional and I have been trained in statistical modeling. l have reviewed both the CDC and the UN/WHO numbers. I found them unbelievable (not to be believed). What was real interesting is how they changed their methods and skewed the trend lines. The CDC changes were done in one year and it just doesn't add up. The UN/WHO trended almost all of the data for every country downward except for the US which they trended upwards and quite dramatically and without and justifiable data from what I could gather.

So set your political agenda aside and use your analytical skills

Hi Reader,

Thank you for your comment. I did not say that the US is 1, 2 or 3, I said 42nd amongst the 171 countries ranked. In my recent research I found "The U.S. was tied with the eastern European country of Belarus and just above Serbia and Montenegro. Ireland led the world with one death in 47,600, followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. Niger had the most deaths per pregnancy at 1 in 7."

You are right, we do have a better maternal outcome then third world countries, but for being the most expensive country per birth, shouldn't we rate above Serbia and Montenegro?

can you read your facts correctly? U.S. is 42 not 1, 2 or 3. therefore to say it's one of the worst is not very smart. maybe you should do some research about third world countries who rank the highest in maternal mortality, before you dramatize one issue of many in the united states.
