Childbirth Education
2-Day Intensives with Terry or Anna
Saturdays, 1-5pm & Sundays, 10am-2pm | $225 per couple
Upcoming dates:
August 22 & 23
September 12 & 13
Class will include: Gestation and anatomy, nutrition, preparing your body and how to adapt to the changes, birth plans, labor support, your partner as a coach, stages of labor, interventions, inductions, C-sections, breathing, relaxation, pain management techniques, breastfeeding, newborn procedures, and postpartum health. There will also be time for questions!
Terry is a certified childbirth educator. She uses her experience as a labor support doula, yoga instructor and mother to offer a well-rounded, accessible curriculum. As a doula, she has assisted couples through a very wide range of birth choices and experiences. It is her goal to teach the full spectrum of options a couple has when preparing for their birth, and then to support them unconditionally. The most important way to approach your birth is with confidence and relaxation. You achieve this by knowing what possible things to expect and by feeling prepared to respond positively to whatever your journey turns out to be.
Anna is a Lamaze certified childbirth educator as well as a labor support doula certified through DONA. She has years of both counseling and teaching experience and became interested in childbirth after attending the birth of a close friend. She holds masters degrees in psychology and health education and is currently finishing her doctorate in health education at Columbia University.
Hear from some happy parents-to-be:
My husband and I took this class and absolutely loved it! After the course, we feel that we are ready to face any labor, birth, and even postpartum difficulties we might experience.
Terry was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, could answer every one of my questions (and I had a lot!) and just a phenomenal teacher all around!

Everyone will benefit from this unique learning experience! Some of the more specific benefits for your baby include: stimulated circulation, improved body awareness, improved sleep patterns, reduced discomfort from teething, congestion, gas, colic and emotional stress.
The instructor has over seven years of experience in early childhood music, and is both licensed as a massage therapist and certified in infant massage. Course includes an instruction manual to help you continue massage with your baby at home. Classes are one hour to allow both for instruction and discussion of relevant topics, such as helping your baby sleep through the night.
