Dr. Bradley

I worked with Dr. Bradley until week 32 and then switched to a midwife. Dr. Bradley was pleasant, but as I progressed in my pregnancy I found her more abrupt and "by the book" in ways that were unhelpful. I'm usually underweight and gained a lot in the second trimester. She put me on a no carb and no fruit juice diet, which didn't feel right to me. (I've gained just over 40 pounds in this pregnancy, which the midwife thinks is fine.) Also Dr. Bradley was not clear about my chances of using the SLR birthing center. At first we thought it was a done deal, but then found out that only 30% of her first time moms are eligible. She said "first time moms don't know how to have babies." That's when I moved on. Hope this is helpful. I suppose in the grand scheme of things she's better than a lot of doctors who go for inductions and c-sections, but she's not really as liberal as I had hoped.
