We are, unfortunately, going to have to part ways with our FABULOUS nanny, Jean at the end of the summer. We would like to try to find her a wonderful family to work with in M or Brooklyn. She is looking to start at the end of August/beginning of September.
We feel incredibly blessed that our five-year old son Brad is the sweet, smart and well-behaved little boy that he is…and we are not ignorant enough to think that this is all because of his outstanding genes. Jean began working with us when Brad was 6 weeks old. We know that Jean, over the five years that she has cared for Brad, has played a big part in teaching and nurturing our son. We originally hired Jean when we were living in Manhattan. When we made the move to Staten Island, we asked her to “come with us” for the first few months (which entailed her commuting an hour and a half each way every day from her home in Brooklyn) so that it was one less thing for us to worry about during our transition.
Jean is creative and caring, punctual and hardworking, fun and loyal. She has helped Brad make wonderful friends in our neighborhood and she has turned playing at home into time that is both fun and educational. Jean has truly been our partner, always doing what we requested in relationship to Brad, but where appropriate, making quiet suggestions regarding new toys that she might like or different foods that she should try.
Jean has a very calm and soothing way about her—it was one of the characteristics that we appreciated about her when we were hiring her to look after our infant. We have grown to value it even more as Brad becomes a very precocious toddler. Jean has taken amazing care of Brad.
She is tidy and organized. And, she is extremely easy to be around—she is as low maintenance as they come. Most importantly, you would be hard-pressed to find a more trustworthy and honest individual.
