Hi Kim
There are a few good yoga poses that along with the use of an acupuncturist, can help encourage your baby to turn. Any gentle inversion, like downward dog or child's pose with your bum up in the air or (if you have an ironing board) lay on the board with your feet upward, all these positions will encourage the child to dislodge from the pelvis and then doing cat/cow or walking up and downstairs. (this creates an asymmetrical pelvis) which will help rotate the baby downward). You can also do a supported bridge pose by placing a yoga block or a thick stack of towels or books under your pelvis for support. All these inversions should be done for about 20 minutes.
Also- for a breech baby try putting light or music at your pubic bone. It is said that babies will move towards the light and sound.
The final suggestion for a breech (or posterior baby) would be, swimming in a pool. This is particularly helpful for a postior baby because it encourages the baby's spine to shift towards the mother's abdomen and to my understanding of breech, the water pressure against the mother's stomach releases pressure and allows for more space to spin downward. Also, a "butt up" situation in the water would be helpful.
I am also a strong believer in the mind/ body connection. Meditate and visualize your baby turning downward.
Hope this helps!!
Take care,
Deb
