Hi Deb,
I was wondering if you could recommend a T.E.N.S. unit for my labor/delivery. There are so many to choose from and a PT friend said a unit in the $50 range should be sufficient but he didn't know the labor/delivery protocol to advise me on a brand/model to get. Any information you can provide on the subject would be really helpful.

Hey Dani

I am so sorry for my tardiness in getting back to you. I have heard great things about T.E.N.S Units. (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.- a small device that sends electrical impulses to certain parts of the body to block pain signals.)

In theory I believe that the unit can be great during labor, but have never seen one used. So unfortunately, I can not advice you on a unit to purchase. If you decide to invest in one, please let me know your experience with it.

Thanks & no worries Deb. I finally remembered to speak with Dr. Rodke about using the unit and she's a fan. She showed me where to place the conducter pads and said that any basic unit would suffice. I'll certainly post my experience with it after I actually use it. When that is i'm still waiting to find out!!!
