Fast and amazing!!
Hey Deb,
This is Elizabeth. I usually come to your Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm prenatal yoga class with my friend Cathy. Just writing to let you know that I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy, and happy baby girl this past Thursday the 11th at 10:50 am.
You may have remembered that during last Tuesday's class I had mentioned to you that during my doctor's appointment that day I was told that I was 1 cm dilated, 50% effaced, and baby was down low in the pelvis. Wednesday morning I woke up to some heavy bleeding, which prompted me to go to the hospital. After six hours of waiting in triage, I was finally told that it appeared that my doctor had stripped my membrane during my visit the day before, but that other than that nothing much was happening. I went home and started getting very light and sporadic contractions, which I thought I was just going to sleep off. Overnight, however, they started to become stronger and more regular. By 5:30 am Thursday morning, I woke up to excruciating pain. I waited at home till about 8 am (using every yoga technique I could possible remember amidst the pain). I was in the hospital at 8:15, and 8 cm dilated! I refused the epidural, and by 10:30 am I started to push. Twenty minutes later, my beautiful baby girl, Isabella, was born.
It was an amazing experience, and I cannot believe how quickly it all happened. I truly appreciated everything I learned in yoga because I really feel that all of it was what helped me get through the labor and delivery experience naturally and quickly. Pushing from your abdomen is the way to go!
Thanks again for everything, and I will be sure to spread the word about the HUGE benefits of prenatal yoga!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth
