A Happy Baby Space
I am a registered architect here in the city. Over the last couple of years I have been developing a part of my practice that focuses on the special spatial needs of families with newborns.
The creation of a nurturing environment for the entire family involves the management of light and noise, maximizing of storage, and the creation of spaces that accommodate the activities that are part of life with a baby: nursing, changing, feeding, sleeping, playing etc.
I work with families in a variety of capacities. While some families hire me to do total renovations to meet these needs, other families with smaller budgets will hire me to consult for a few hours to conduct a space planning exercise. Essentially, I will go into someone’s home, and make suggestions to help them find a strategy for how they can better use their space and furniture and at the same time create a space where everyone in the family can grow.
