Tip #8 - The Benefits of Good Nutrition
A well balanced diet is important at any point in your life, but especially when there is someone else relying on the choices you make for their nutrition.
Mamas to be!
While your food cravings may shift from day to day, try to sneak in foods that contains vitamin C, B6, iron, calcium and folic acid. Look for bright colored vegetables, bananas, beans, brewer's yeast, yogurt and whole grains.
If you are a victim to night calf cramps, try to get extra calcium and magnesium. Did you know that chocolate has BOTH calcium and magnesium??
New Moms!
It can be hard to concentrate on your own diet when all your energy and focus is now shifted to your baby.
Between feeding and changing your little one, try to reach for a snack with complex carbs and protein. This will help balance your blood sugar and give you needed energy. Try whole wheat toast with almond butter, hummus and pita bread or edamame!
