Doctor Needed Any Location - Moving to NYC--Advice re: OBGYN?

Hello,
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and am moving from Toronto, Canada to NYC (the Morningside Heights neighbourhood) in September. I'm concerned that I won't be able to find an OBGYN once we arrive (I'll be about 20 weeks pregnant once we move). Is it generally hard to find a doctor once you're as far along as your second trimester? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!
Norah

Hi Nora,
I moved to NYC when I was 14 weeks and had no problem in finding an obstetrician and I think that you wont have a problem. In case you are interested my doctors name is Steven Ordorica at New York University Medical Center. Try to give him a call and ask for more details. He is really good

I see Dr. Bradley who is part of SLR Hospital on the UWS. Everyone in her practice is female and they all support delivery at the birth center, if this is something you are interested in.
Good Luck

Very nice Ob practice on UWS

I have seen Dr. Barbieri for years as a Gyn and am now pregnant with my first. Have now been meeting the other Obs in the group who seem equally nice and supportive. Would be convenient to where you are moving.

I recommend you bring a complete set of medical records, don't count on your current provider to forward. Also you should try and get your 20 week sonogram done up there, before the move. You don't want to be too late for that exam because as the baby gets bigger things are harder to visualize certain things.

Good luck.

Billie
