Looking for recommendations for OB-GYN at Roosevelt

Can anyone recommend a woman OB-GYN at Roosevelt Hospital? I am changing doctors ( I am now with a male doctor at NYU), and would like any good tips on doctors and hospitals. I am 32 weeks so need to make a decison soon. Thanks for your help!

i have worked with sylvie blaustein (midwife, but really good!) and dr. rhee and dr. lee. i also worked with dr. daily at roosevlet. i am not sure if she is still there. she is fantastic! my friend has recently used dr. gae rodke and loved her! i have also heard great things about dr. paka. as for the hospital, i really like roosevelt. they are the only one that has a good tub with water jets in the L & D rooms. hope this helps! deb

Misha, I'm in my 18th week, I just switched to a new OB. My original doctor was too rigid, not open the way I want to give birth. I called many midwives, and discovered they were booked for my delivery date in November. My new doctor delivers at the Birthing Center. She, and the other two doctors in her practice come close to treating delivery as midwives do. Her name is Dr. Katrina Bradley. Check out the website to read her bio. and check out the other doctors affiliated with the hospital. http://www.nywomenshealth.com/obstet...stricians.html The only problem that may arise is that they don't like to take on a new patient so late in the pregnancy, but, it couldn't hurt to call. Good Luck.

Westcare Medical - Dr. Brown

I have been working with Dr. Brown, and have been extremely pleased with her responsiveness, knowledge, and care.

dr. renuka paka has birthing center privileges and will patiently wait out a long labor. she is indian, and she promotes natural child birth, but when she needs to step in, she will -- quickly and efficiently. she has been my doctor for ten years, and i highly recommend her.

i also went to the practice with dr rhee, bradley and playforth. dr playforth attended my birth and she was great, though i wish i had dr rhee.

lots of people say that dr rhee is too tough, but i think she is a very strong advocate for natural birth and is caring when it counts -- your delivery.

Question any more recommendations?

Hi there,
I'm so glad to have found this thread! I am currently looking for a new midwife (or OB), since I just found out today that my midwife @ Mt Sinai is unexpectedly closing her practice next month!
I would love to deliver at Roosevelt, but the midwives I have called so far are not taking patients with dates in December...
I've taken note of the suggestions above, and will try my luck with them.
If anyone out there has any more recommendations please post them!
Thanks

Hi

It may be hard to get into a practice with a midwife at this point, but here are some recommendations.

Dr. Paka (does the birth center) she works with Yael Silverberg (midwife)

Dr. Lily Wong- I really like her & I worked with! (Does the birth center)

Sylvie Blaustein (midwife) I worked with her. she is great!

Dr. Rhee and Dr. Bradely (both do birth center and i have worked with Dr. Rhee several times. They have a new doctor that just joined the practice- I haven't met her yet.)

Dr. Lee (my doctor)- great doctor- but does not do the birth center. He works with Dr. Mortiz , Dr Jew and Dr Dillan (sp?)

hope these names help!

take care

Deb
