The Mount Sinai Midwifery Program is staffed by Certified Midwives who provide obstetric and gynecologic care both at Mount Sinai's outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Center and at several offices in Manhattan and Queens. A midwife is always on-site at the labor and delivery unit -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the unlikely event that complications arise, an expert board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist is also available at all times. For patients who desire pain relief in labor, Mount Sinai's Department of Anesthesia provides superior labor anesthesia services.
