My wife and I have an 8-month old son, and we live on the upper east side of Manhattan. The position that we seek to fill is a bit different – some babysitting, some housekeeping, some grocery shopping and other errand running, and general help with our household. Also, very importantly, we LOVE our apartment, which is two flights up in a walk-up building, but the trek up and down with baby, diaper bag, groceries, etc. can be challenging. So, an essential part of the job is to assist my wife when she leaves with our son and returns home. Other duties could arise on occasion as well.

This position would be for substantial part-time on weekdays, and possibly full-time certain weeks. If you are also available to babysit some weekends or evenings, that’s a plus. Crucial to this position are a good match between you and our son and a terrific, positive attitude about the job. We believe that everyone is best served if the person who takes this position thinks, “This is the job for me!” and not, “Well, it’s a job.”

Our son is a truly wonderful baby (yes, we’re a bit biased…) who loves to interact with people and is infinitely curious. He also has a smile and laugh that make your day, every day. We are a relaxed, professional couple who want to enjoy this phase of parenting – and beyond – as much as we can, and the right person would provide the extra help we need to be the best parents for our son and have the most fun possible while doing it.
