Our nanny, Shernell , will be available beginning of jan 2012. My husband, daughter and I have moved back to Boston since he has finished a fellowship at HSS, and we will be sad not to have Shernell in our lives!


To provide background, Shernell has worked with our family and began with us when our daughter was 20 months old. I was very nervous because I loved our former nanny back in Boston and did not know if I would be able to find another individual I trusted as much and who cared about our daughter in the same way. Shernell immediately set aside those fears and has been a great asset to our family. The thing I appreciate most about Shernell is how much she obviously cares about our daughter. She greets her with a hug and a kiss each morning and doesn't leave in the evening without another! One of the first big to-do's she tackled for us was breaking our daughter of the pacifier (which she only used during naps and at night).
I thought that this would be a huge process, and within two days, she no longer even asked for it. She is currently working on potty training, and has been so patient, not to mention more successful than I have been in getting our daughter to cooperate. Shernell knows a large network of nannies in New York City, including the Upper East Side. She takes our daughter on playdates and to classes regularly, which means I never have to worry about her getting enough social interaction with other kids her own age. Other things that Shernell has worked on are colors and numbers - while these are learnings which I try to reinforce myself, I truly believe it was Shernell who got her to learn her colors and numbers in a short period of time. She has extensive experience with children and can provide a very robust resume on request. Whatever family hires her will be lucky to have her.
She is seeking a part-time or full time position.
