I live in Brooklyn Bay Ridge and I am looking for a part time nanny thats creative energetic, trustworthy and wonderful to children. This is a part time position that includes picking the children up from school and caring for them until I arrive. If you are interested or would like to share a nanny please respond. The hours needed are Mondays/Wednesdays 2:00pm-4:30pm.

Hello my name is Latoya Turner I'm 26 years old and I am a child care
provider (Nanny-Housekeeper) I have been taking care of children for
about 10 years and house keeping for over 4 years. I've worked with
children from the ages of 4 weeks to 13 years old. I was working for a
family on 14Th St . Union Sq (NYC) for over 3 years with a new born
and a 2 year old when I started, they are now 6 and 8 . But they had
to relocate up state and did not have room for a live-in nanny, and
the commute would have been too much for me. But I did find another
job right on the west side of 14Th St. as a Nanny. I have been with
this family for 3 years. When I started this position Presley (the
little girl I take care of) was only just a 4 week old and she is now
3 years old. I really loved working with this family.
Unfortunately for me and the parent, she lost her job so as of March
1st they didn't need me any more.

I also worked for a family with twin boys and a 5 year
old girl as a nanny/housekeeper. I only been with this family for 2
month's but this position was not right for me. I work 7 day a week as a
live in and i only get 3 hour break every weekday, I'm pretty sure that was
not legal. And I worked from sun up to sun down. the family is really
nice to me in the beginning but towards the end it wasn't really good. I could not continue to work there.
I currently work on the upper west side with a really nice family. but it's very part time and now because i am about to move I need more hours. I take care of a Little girl name Sabra and she is 9 months old.

My child care style...
I call my child care style Democratic or Authoritative. Democratic child care style help children learn to be responsible for themselves and to think about the consequences of their behavior. I do this by providing clear, reasonable expectations for children and explanations for why I expect them to behave in a particular manner. I monitor their behavior to make sure that they follow through on rules and expectations. I do this in a warm and loving manner. I often, "try to catch children doing something positive" and reinforce that behavior, rather than focusing on behaviors I don’t like. I who use democratic style give choices based on a child's ability. For a toddler, the choice may be "red shirt or striped shirt?” I will guide children behavior by teaching, not punishing. "You threw your truck at Mindy. That hurt her. We're putting your truck away until you can play with it safely."I like taking care of children of any age.
I love what I do and I take great pride in it. Out of all my friends
and family I am the only one who can say "I love my job" and mean it
lol.
I am a very sweet, confident, dedicated, kind, giving, easy to get
along with kind of person. I love to crochet, sew, dance, sing and
read, I am also a license child care provider and I am currently in
school on the weekend. I am looking for something long term but if not
that's fine.
