Our kindergartener's former babysitter, with 20+ yrs experience, seeks new FT/PT employment.

In the 5 years that Brenda worked for us we have found her to be reliable, meticulous, imaginative, firm, strong, and smart. She is very hands on, LOVES to get down and play, and chooses not to use TV. Her creativity is one her best qualities. There were times we came home to find furniture rearranged for a reenactment of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. She can take the stoplight at a crosswalk and turn it into a half-hour of educational entertainment.

She played a big role in teaching our son to read. Even when our son was an infant, she read to him. We appreciated Brenda's sense of discipline. As our son grew from baby into toddler into preschooler, she reinforced the "please's" and "thank you's" in our son's vocabulary, taught him to share, taught him to put his clothes in the hamper, and made sure he always helped put his toys away after playing. She did not cave in to tantrums. At the same time, when our son seemed inconsolable she was often able to soothe him.

She does not do housework—except for our son's laundry and tidying up after him—but somehow every time she left, the apartment looked neater than it was before she came to work (our son looked neater, too). She is punctual, organized—good at planning the day: playdates, naps, meals, classes, always prepared.
Bottom line, Brenda is a great babysitter.
