My husband and I are starting our search for a nanny early in hopes of finding an ideal match. We are looking for someone to start just after the New Year, when our daughter will have just turned one. The candidate must have extensive experience with babies and toddlers, impeccable references and proof of CPR certification. She must be loving, trustworthy, reliable, honest and energetic. We are seeking someone who is dedicated to childcare and truly loves what they do as we're hoping this will be a long-term position that will evolve as our daughter gets older. To start, we want someone who will take an active role in planning our daughter's daily activities (we live on the Upper West Side, so familiarity with the neighborhood is a huge plus); keep her room clean and tidy, do her laundry, prepare her meals and also help with housekeeping and errands. If you are very into watching television or talking on your cell phone while working this is not the position for you. We're looking for a full-time nanny until our daughter goes into preschool/school, at which point we'd want the job to evolve into picking her up and spending the rest of the day with her until my husband and I are finished with work. Maureen has been with my family, on the upper west side, since my daughter was 3 months old. It's hard to convey just how wonderful Maureen has been for us all. She is absolutely fantastic with my daughter Lillian - loving, caring, fun, and energetic. She has been an enormous support for me - when going back to work specifically and also also generally everyday, as we discuss the ins and outs of Lillian's needs, changes, etc. She is very experienced - both in terms as a nanny (and still sees the eight children of the past three families with whom she worked - which was a big deal for me when we were looking for a nanny) and also has a daughter and teenage granddaughter (though don't think of her as a grandmother - she is much more energetic than me and very sporty!).

She is the consummate professional, but also a partner in caring for Lillian.
