Hi there,
I'm here to offer my services as a full or part-time childcare provider. I have extensive experience with the 0-5 set, though have provided care for children through age 10. Have also done some group childcare (up to 6 children from ages 3-7) but prefer to care for 1-2 at a time. Most of the care I have provided has included significant time outside of the house - play dates, trips to the Y, museums, etc.
As a former social services caseworker, I have professional experience in regards to child development. I also have a degree in public health nutrition and extensive knowledge of food allergies and celiac disease, should that be a concern for your family. I have some training towards becoming a registered dietitian and am an energetic and health-focused person. I speak decent Spanish and some Italian (am fluent in menu

)
Due to these terrible economic times, have decided to seek childcare work for the next year+. Looking for 40 hours max (between one or two positions) so that I may devote some time to career-related endeavors, including writing, volunteer work, and applications for PhD programs.
Am available for immediate interview and 9/24 start date (current childcare commitment ends 9/23). Familiar with most Manhattan neighborhoods/popular Brooklyn ones. Am a BK native, but attended high school in Manhattan and spent a lot of time on the UES as had many friends who lived in the area and used to run the reservoir at Central Park.
Oh, should mention: am (unfortunately) violently allergic to cats and somewhat allergic to long-haired dogs.
Please let me know if I can provide any further information!
Kind regards,
Carolyn
P.S. If you or someone you know has recently been diagnosed with celiac disease, am also available for consults/kitchen help!
