I have been practicing yoga for years and during the first half of my pregnancy doing prenatal yoga. Currently I am on modified bed rest and on 2 month disability from work because of a short (2 cm) cervix that now is 1/2 cm open. The cervix consistency is good, though, and there is no funneling and they are not call the "opening" dilation. So I am happily concentrating on that in my meditations. The next 6 weeks until I am 28 weeks is crucial as I am at high risk of preterm birth. Also, the baby's head is always down in the ultrasounds, which makes me wonder whether that could be contributing to pressure on the cervix and its shortening. Do you know of any yoga poses to relieve pressure on the cervix? Everything I read is about supporting labor. I want to stop it! The perinatologist said I could do gentle yoga for now.
Thank you for your help! Any resources would be so appreciated!
Wow, it is good. According to my opinion, Yoga becomes part of your mental life. Yoga teaches you to focus on breathing while you hold the poses. This attention to breath is calming; it dissolves stress and anxiety.
