Additions to the Resources - What do you want us to add?

This is just the beginning of what we plan to include in our resource list. There are still many categories to go.

Right now we are pulling together a small library of books, similar to the ones the studio lends out to the students.

What else would you like us to concentrate on?

Hi John,
I've just started a blog about breastfeeding. People can find it at www.mamaknowsbreast.com It will complement a book I'm writing about breastfeeding that will be published in 2007. I've told Deb about this.
Perhaps the blog is a resource that people would enjoy knowing about.

Funny you mention blogs

I was looking into adding blogs and podcasts to the resource list. I was planning on agregatting blog feeds into the site. It would be like My Yahoo where the title of your blogs and a bit of text feeds into the forums automatically. People could check it out and link to your blog to read the whole article if they are intrigued.

I'm not too familiar with the blogs geared towards prenatal/postnatal women. Maybe you can help get me started. You bloggers run in tight circles.

I'm actually very new to the blogging thing myself. Take a look at the Resources page on my website to see some traditional websites and blogs that I like.

Plus, two things not on my site are http://www.bloggingmommies.com/ and www.blogher.org

My thought is that the people who use this site would be most interested in NY moms blogs. And there are probably many of those. I think if you created a link where people could add their blogs it might build up over time.

As a separate issues. I had to look hard to find your response to me. It seems like there should be a main page to find a response to a post. Is there and I just am clueless? Or is there any way for there to be an alert to my yahoo email when someone has responded to me? Again, I'm not a computer expert at all. So maybe this isn't possible; I just don't know.

There are many ways to find the threads that you are involved in.

The easiest way is to click on the Quick Links > My Recent Posts. This link is in the upper righthand corner of every page on the site, so it is always available. This is also a good place to view the days posts, so you can see what everyone has been talking about in the last 24 hours.

You can also go to your My Profile and change your settings to allow you to subscribe to every post you make so you are notified via email. Go to:

My Profile > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Default Thread Subscription Mode

You can then configure your account to subscribe you without an email notification (this places the posts notification in your User CP). Or you can have it send you an email everytime, daily or weekly.

HTHs

I was also considering adding a blogging/journal feature here in case some of the community wanted to try out blogging. I'm focusing on the resources right now though.
